Use of conformal coating

Our local community of citizens have been running the Sensor Community systems for two years now and there have been a number of failures. We were wondering if anyone has any experience of using conformal coating on their devices? Thank you in advance.

It can work as long as it not conduct electricity.
I let a sensor under the rain and in the cold for 2 years without any issue. Maybe you should review the connection.
The only thing I saw is oxidation on the pins of the BME280. It can be fixed easily with Kontakt60.

Conformal coating is great on the ESP boards where they may be affected by water vapour exiting a building BUT keep away from the sensors!

Also make sure you cover the edges of the boards as I’ve seen water enter boards like that and destroy the vias, everything looks fine except for darkening of the area around the vias.
