Two stations, different data?

Maybe someone has some advice.

I have had a measuring station for many years that regularly shows high levels of particulate matter (in the photo the one with the red data). I have noticed that my data is quite different compared to local public measuring stations.

A year ago, I installed a second completely identical measuring station right next to the existing one. (the green data)

My question, are these sensors just a gimmick which give out data that is only estimated?
What do I have to do to get reasonably reliable identical data ? because sensors installed right next to each other should provide the same values, right ?

Hi. If both sensors use the same hardware they should give similar results. It looks like the one with the ‘red data’ either needs cleaning (check for spiderwebs, insects etc in the tube) or needs replacing.

Yes there is an issue with the first sensor. 513 and 570 are extremely high values.

What kind of air quality sensor is being used? The accuracy of most sensors is overrated.

Something is wrong with the first sensor. If you use SDS011 most probably

is a BUG (I had values 1000 ug/m3).
That’s why i am building batches of 10-15 sensors, collocate to see measurements (almost exactly ) and then deploy.
