Support for Sensirion SEN66

Even when proper SEN5X support is still missing, maybe you would like to add support for the new SEN66 from Sensirion

SEN5X as well as SEN6X are platforms for INDOOR USE ONLY due to humidity restrictions on the sensors. Why would one add these measurements to sensor.community as indoor measurements cannot be related to other measurements in the area and no one can use them but the owner. For the owner of an indoor sensor it would be more convenient to use e.g. Home Assistant and Home Assistant already integrates SEN5X via EspHome. Home Assistant allows to take actions based on the measurement values.

All cheap sensors are Indoor and have problems with humidity.

More info

We have 20 x SEN55 working, firmware is available.

We want to implement the SEN66/SEN68 in our firmware.
Sensor SEN66 is availability - March 2025.

Nearly all sensors supported by this project exceptTera NextPM are indoor only…

ALL sensors supported by Sensor.Community are indoor sensors, and should never have been used outdoors if your explanation (peoter) for not completely supporting the SEN55/SEN66 family of sensors is correct.

We - me and all other users of the SEN55/SEN66 - don’t ask much. All we want is that Sensor.Community accepts ALL data (also the VOC, NOx & CO2 data!) from the SEN55/SEN66 family sensors to be stored in the DATABASE, and be accessible through the API. This is important, as the SEN55/SEN66 family of sensors may become the next standard sensor…

I recently found out that RADIATION sensors and their data are supported in exactly that same way, while the NOx and VOC measurements of the SEN55/SEN66 are a lot more useful to a lot more users. So at least supporting both the same way looks completely acceptable…

Of course showing that data on the map, as is already asked for the radiation sensors, would be a nice addition…

This would prevent the need for users to using a modified version of the firmware, setup their own servers, and all the complications of combining data from different sources for displaying them on a stand-alone LED or LCD display (my case), when only the need arises to read & process ALL their local results.

We are all volunteers, designing & constructing measurement & display devices for use by others, for the sake of bending politicians to address the problem of air quality.

Thanks for the good work to all volunteers on this project !
