Sensor looses WiFi

Hi!
The sensor shows Wi-Fi network dedicated for IoT, and the signal level is ~32%. I connect to it and I get the data. After some time there is no data and it never returns (so it is not short-lasting problem with the network). I have to reset the sensor, pick the network, enter the password and connect. And the next day or after couple of hours it repeats.

Do you have any idea, what can it be? Is there a log, where I can find problems/info?

Hi,
The sensor is too far from the router ? Double-layer windows can be tricky…

Far, not far - this is relative term. This is why I posted the signal level. Maybe I should ask another way - what minimal signal level should be?

32% is very low in my opinion. I succeeded to make a sensor work on long term with such value but the ESP was modified with a quite good antenna. The sensor was about 10 m far from the router with 2 big wall and a double layer window. When the double layer window was open I got more than 40%. Try to get more than 50%.

I wonder about something else. It connects, even the signal’s level is 30%. It sends the data for some time. And then suddenly it stops and never comes back. Why? If 30% was enough at first, why then it is not? Shouldn’t it try to connect from time to time, even if once the connection was too week?

Maybe it tries but after a while it stops. I can remember there is something like this in the firmware.
The behavior is part of the mystery of the WiFi.

But why it stops? I has nothing else to do but try! Otherwise it is useless. Until it tries, there is a hope to succeed. If not, it is just nothing. It is a machine, it doesn’t get tired.
By the way - do you know, if there is a a source of a firmware to check or maybe modify this behavior?

Instability in WiFi happens a lot according to my experience. It probably has to do with interferences.

Try to hack the antenna or put the sensor closer to the router.

Check for any devices in your WLAN that change their MAC-address automatically after some time. I’ve seen this upsetting the router.
