Sensirion SEN5x

Hi, I want to experiment with the sensirion sen5x. Saw that there has been a topic on these sensors in 2022 already, but have been looking in the archive if there are data stored already. Can’t find anything.

At the moment I am experimenting with the latest DNMS firmware from Helmut Bitter and I saw that the sensirion 5x is included in the firmware as well. And in devices.sensor.community it can be added too.

I am especially interested in the nitrogen oxides measurement and how this is shown on the map. Also want to know how I have to hook up this sensor. Who has experience with this sensor?

We have 15 x SEN55 active in Leusden (NL) problem if you want NOX and VOC you need your own communication.
We use MQTT and have our own Linux server.

For most other you can not use SEN5X so we send the values as SPS30 and SHT3X

Note: Values NOX and VOC are index
For NL
RIVM (Samen Meten - Dataportaal) has not implemented SEN5X

Thanks for your quick reply. I am going to check out the project on the sen5x on your github. I don’t have my own server, but a friend of mine has a virtual linux server for sound measuring.

I am studying how MQQT works and what broker I have to install.

I measure sound, dust and radiation. You can see the data from the geiger on multigeiger.citysensor.de

Leusden is not too far from my home. I live in Utrecht.

Hi,
We have some experience with Sensirion SEN55 and SGP41 which I believe SEN55 contains inside its housing.
PM readings of SEN55 correlate very much with those of PMS7003. NOx and VOC readings are indexes, so you need a reference if you want to present them as absolute values.
Also, NOx sensitivity is quite low, and basically in outdoor conditions you will not be receiving measurements higher than 2, we get 1 99% of the time. So even if you decide to calibrate them against a reference instrument, that would be a difficult task
