Hi
I’d like to make a sound level meter, using the IM72D128 microphone with an ESP32.
Has anyone done this before, or knows about any resource I can start with?
Thank you

Welcome !
Have you read the documentation about the DNMS ?
Are you sure you can expect the sameperformance with an ESP32 and the microphone ?
Thanks a lot for the reply.
I have a prototype with the ICS-43434 microphone working nicely with an ESP32-S3.
The ESP32-S3 has ample resources left for other tasks, so my reasoning is that it would be similar with the IM72D128.
The DNMS repository you linked to, is centered around the Teensy board, so quite a different platform than the ESP32, and would require quite some work to port, no?
Hi,
Some people tried to port on ESP32 even if Helmut Bitter was not convinced. Unfortunately I can’t remember who…
We have one of these for testing (cost € 40,-)
Nice, I don’t see the IM72D128 mentioned though?
Why IM72D128 (curious)
We are looking for a cheap/easy design (without Teensy controller)
I’m just interested in its IP57 rating
It has a lower sensitivity than the ICS-43434 though.
The sensor it self has a IP57 rating, but you need solder PCB and wires on the sensor.
