Just out of curiosity: After successfull installation of the sensor, will the fan of the Nova SDS011 always run continuously? Or will it be only switched on each 10 minutes during measuring interval?

the fan should run for 30 seconds every 2 minutes when using the default config values (measurement interval 145 seconds). If the the fan doesn’t stop then you should check the cable connections. The SDS011 seems not to receive the stop command.

The fan does indeed stop all x minutes. This is why I was confused - I always thought that it should operate without breaks… 
Is it possible to configure the fan to run every 15 minutes in order to preserve the sensor for longer life?
You could change the mwasurement interval in the local settings to a higher value. The measurement needs a running fan. But with an interval of more than 5 minutes the sensor won’t be shown all the time on the map. There are only devices that have sent data in the last 5 minutes.
