# Current reason for fine dust values

Does anyone know anything about the reason for current increased values? The map shows a cloud of fine dust over the Netherlands and northwest of Germany. My sensors record increasing values since 8:00 p.m. They are are now over 100ppm (PM2.5).

Does anyone know the reason?

Most likely smog and morning fog. In the Netherlands there is a smog alert since friday until today. See [In heel Nederland kans op smog door ozon en fijnstof | RIVM](https://www.rivm.nl/nieuws/in-heel-nederland-kans-op-smog-door-ozon-en-fijnstof) for more information (in Dutch).

I’m in Scotland and my readings for 2.5 and 10 have both been around 80 due to Sahara dust.
